Dear Members of the Ankeny Business & Industry Collaborative,

As we begin 2026, I am honored to step into the role of Board Chair for the Ankeny Business and Industry Collaborative. It is a privilege to serve this organization and to work alongside such a dedicated group of business and community leaders who care deeply about Ankeny’s success.

ABIC plays a vital role in strengthening our local business environment through advocacy, engagement, and learning. In a time of continued change and opportunity, our mission remains clear: to support our investor businesses and help ensure Ankeny remains a vibrant, prosperous place to live and work.

As Board Chair, my focus will be on listening to our members, fostering meaningful connections, and helping deliver relevant, practical value through our programs and events. Your input and participation are essential to ABIC’s continued impact, and I encourage you to stay engaged by attending meetings and sharing your perspectives.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our past leadership for their dedication and service, and to our members for your continued support. I look forward to working with you in the year ahead as we continue to strengthen Ankeny’s business community together.

Warm regards,
Ellen Hames

His family of five is active in the youth sports and special needs communities, seeking to inspire joy and creativity wherever they go. The Ankeny Community School District is excited to invite you to participate in our annual High School Career Showcases this spring. These events are designed to highlight a wide range of career fields and the many pathways students can pursue within them.  Ankeny Community School District is welcoming professionals from diverse industries to help our 11th-grade students better understand the opportunities available in your career field and the steps they can take to get there.

At the Career Showcase, you can expect to:
· Engage with students who are eager to learn about your profession.
· Share hands-on tools, equipment, or interactive demonstrations (if applicable).
· Describe day-to-day responsibilities and what a “day in the life” looks like.
· Discuss the training, education, and pathways that lead to success in your career.
· Offer insights into your own journey and professional story.

Important Update: This year’s format has changed a little bit. Career professionals will be grouped by career cluster rather than by company. Our goal is to help students explore industries and career paths, not to promote individual organizations or recruitment. We encourage professionals with genuine passion for their field and a desire to guide students. We encourage multiple people from the same company to participate; however, you may be placed in different career cluster groups depending on your specific career.
